California Pizza Kitchen, Inc. (CPK) (NASDAQ:CPKI) has a licensing agreement with Kraft Foods to manufacture and market California Pizza Kitchen brand frozen pizzas in the grocery channel. Nestle announced today it has agreed to acquire Kraft Foods’ frozen pizza business in the US and Canada. The acquisition includes the California Pizza Kitchen brand license for frozen pizza and related products sold in grocery stores. This transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to be completed in 2010.
Famous Dave’s of America, Inc. (NASDAQ: DAVE) President and CEO Christopher O’Donnell announced that Savory Investments, LLC has purchased the right to franchise four Famous Dave’s Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que(R) restaurants in California and Nevada. The California markets covered by the agreement include Redding and Chico, and the Nevada markets include Reno and Sparks. This marks the thirteenth and fourteenth locations in California, as well as the fifth and sixth locations in Nevada.
Following the recent sale of the original location to Lemmon Avenue Holdings, BSCH, Inc. – the partnership between Omni Hotels & Resorts and Bill Lenox which owns the restaurant’s brand – has reached an agreement for the renowned restaurant to continue to operate as a Bob’s Steak & Chop House.
