Yoshinoya Continues Brand Expansion in Ventura County

Yoshinoya, one of Japan’s largest restaurant chain companies and a global brand with over 1,400 locations throughout the world, announced today they will celebrate the opening of their first Ventura County, California location on December 19th, 2009.

The opening brings the total number of restaurants to ninety eight in the United States and follows a successful year of expansion inside and outside the core market of Los Angeles while the unit growth of most other quick service restaurant brands have remained stagnant or have featured closures. New location openings outside of Los Angeles over the past eighteen months have included Las Vegas, Phoenix, Corona, Oxnard and soon to open Escondido.

‘We are excited to open our ninety eighth location in Oxnard,’ said Vice President of Franchise Development and Sales, Scot Hobert. ‘We continue to receive inquiries from Ventura County residents for new Yoshinoya restaurants and our fresh, affordable and wholesome Japanese style food. We expect that Yoshinoya will continue to expand in Ventura County as new, and current, franchisees are looking for open territories like this that have strong demand for our brand.’

Yoshinoya’s signature Beef Bowl (R) recipe, which was created over 100 years ago in Japan, can be enjoyed at the new Oxnard, California restaurant, located at 2801 Saviers Road. The new location offers a wide menu including their famous rice bowls, BBQ style plates, sesame wing, soups, salads, kids meals and desserts.

The new Yoshinoya location in Oxnard will be holding an official grand opening celebration on Saturday, January 9th complete with free collectible tea cups, prizes, music and an official ribbon cutting by the mayor of Oxnard, Dr. Thomas E. Holden. The grand opening event, as always will be capped off with their famous beef bowl eating contest open to rice bowl lovers with an appetite for competition.
