Shipley Donuts Names Matt Kafka COO, Todd Brin CDO, John Feray CFO
Shipley Donuts has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointments of Matt Kafka as chief operating officer, Todd Brin as chief development officer, and John Feray as chief financial officer. The appointments coincide with the company’s 90th anniversary and its approach to opening its 400th location.
Kafka brings nearly 30 years of restaurant operations experience, most recently serving as senior vice president and interim COO at Smoothie King, where he oversaw franchise and corporate operations across approximately 1,250 stores. He previously held operations roles at Jamba Juice.
Brin joined Shipley Donuts in 2025 as vice president of design and construction and has more than 30 years of experience in unit development, operations, and strategic leadership. He spent 22 years at Wingstop, helping scale the brand from 85 to 2,500 units worldwide. As chief development officer, Brin will oversee franchise sales, development, construction, design, and real estate.
Feray, now chief financial officer, has more than 30 years of experience in finance, accounting, operations, and strategic leadership. He most recently served as CFO at GSM Outdoors and has held financial leadership roles at Dollar General Corporation and RadioShack.
The three appointments follow the addition of Chief Marketing Officer Bill Leibengood, who joined Shipley Donuts in late 2025. The expanded leadership team joins as the brand continues its growth, including recent multi-unit deals and the opening of its first shop in Las Vegas.
Shipley Donuts operates more than 390 franchised and company-owned restaurants across 13 states, with franchise opportunities available throughout the South, Southeast, and Midwest.
