Dave’s Hot Chicken Appoints Joshua Liggins to Lead Franchise Development
Dave’s Hot Chicken has named Joshua Liggins as Vice President of Franchise Development, with responsibilities focused on supporting franchisees and expanding the brand’s presence in both domestic and international markets.
Liggins previously served as Director of Franchising at Inspire Brands, overseeing development for Dunkin’, Baskin-Robbins, and Sonic. In his new role at Dave’s Hot Chicken, Liggins will be responsible for:
- Supporting existing franchisees in meeting development milestones
- Identifying high-potential markets and trade areas for new locations
- Mapping future development opportunities aligned with the company’s growth strategy
- Overseeing the execution of existing franchise agreements in domestic markets
- Expanding international development, including partnerships such as the European agreement with Azzurri Group
The company reports that most domestic territories are already committed, and it is continuing efforts to ensure that current agreements are executed in accordance with established standards. Additional real estate opportunities are being evaluated in high-performing locations.
International growth remains a priority, with a focus on working with experienced, multi-unit operators capable of developing full regions. Recent agreements, including the partnership with Azzurri Group in Europe, are part of the strategy to increase the brand’s global footprint.
Dave’s Hot Chicken has sold the rights to more than 1,020 franchise locations across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Canada. The company plans to open over 70 new locations in 2024.
The appointment of Liggins follows recent changes in the company’s leadership team, including the naming of Jim Bitticks as CEO earlier this year.
