Rachael Ray Foundation Awards $5,000 Grants to Support Culinary Education

The Rachael Ray Foundation, in collaboration with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, has announced the allocation of $5,000 grants to 48 high schools across the United States. These funds are intended to support the ProStart career and technical education program, which focuses on culinary arts and restaurant management. The grants aim to enhance classroom experiences by providing resources, including curriculum materials, supplies, and equipment.
ProStart is a two-year program that combines classroom learning with hands-on industry experience. It is designed to prepare students for careers in the restaurant industry by teaching them culinary techniques and restaurant management skills. The program is available in public high schools and career technical education centers across all 50 states, as well as in the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. To date, ProStart has educated over 222,000 students at 2,200 schools.
The Rachael Ray Foundation ProStart Grow Grants are expected to benefit more than 4,800 students across 24 states. This initiative marks the sixth year of financial support from The Rachael Ray Foundation, which has awarded over $1 million through the ProStart Grow Grant program. In addition to these grants, the foundation, along with the Yum-o! organization, has sponsored over 260 scholarships for students pursuing post-secondary degrees in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
