Jason Cochran Joins Sweetgreen As New Chief Operating Officer

- Cochran brings with him over 20 years of executive leadership experience in the restaurant and consumer retail industry.
Sweetgreen, Inc. has announced the appointment of Jason Cochran as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). The new role will take effect on May 5th. As COO, Cochran will oversee Field Operations, Operations Services, and Innovation.
Before joining Sweetgreen, Cochran served as the CEO and a board member of American West Restaurant Group, the third-largest Pizza Hut franchisee in the United States. His leadership led the company through a transformational growth phase and operational improvements across hundreds of locations.
In addition to his role at American West Restaurant Group, Cochran also held the position of Vice President of Operations Services at Chipotle Mexican Grill, where he was responsible for over 3,000 restaurants and $8.6 billion in annual revenue. His tenure at Chipotle marked successful cross-functional initiatives in process improvement, menu and equipment innovation, new store development, and field training.
Cochran’s extensive career includes a 14-year stint at GameStop, where he eventually became Senior Vice President of U.S. Stores. He managed 4,400 locations in this capacity and was responsible for more than $7.5 billion in sales.
